Ratan Naval Tata is an Indian industrialist, philanthropist and former president of Tata Sons. He was also chairman of the Tata Group from 1990 to 2012, and again, as interim chairman, from October 2016 to February 2017, and continues to lead charities. Group. He is the recipient of India's two highest civilian titles, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan. Born in 1937, he was descended from the Tata family, and was the son of the Tata Navy, who was adopted by Mr. Ratan Tata, son of Jamsetji Tata, the founder of Tata Corporation. He is an alumnus of the Cornell College of Architecture and Harvard Business School in the Advanced Management Program which he completed in 1975. He joined his company in 1961 while working in the Tata steel mill, and was a clear successor to J. R. D. Tata when he later retired in 1991.
